People consult acupuncturists for a wide range of reasons. These may include pain, muscular tension, stress, sleep difficulties, digestive concerns, menstrual or hormonal symptoms, low energy and general wellbeing.
Treatment is tailored to the individual and considers more than the presenting symptom alone. Your first appointment provides time to discuss your health history, lifestyle and any concerns you would like support with.
Acupuncture is not a replacement for medical diagnosis or urgent medical care. Where appropriate, you may be advised to speak with your GP or another healthcare professional.

Acupuncture needles are very fine, and many people experience little or no discomfort during treatment.
You may notice a brief tingling, warmth, heaviness or dull sensation around an acupuncture point. Many people find the appointment calm and relaxing, although experiences vary.
Please let Nas know if you are nervous about needles or have any concerns before treatment.

The number and frequency of appointments will depend on your health, the reason you are seeking treatment, how long the concern has been present and how you respond.
Some people attend for a small number of sessions, while others choose a longer course of treatment. A series of weekly appointments may initially be suggested, followed by a review.
Any recommended treatment plan will be discussed with you, and you are under no obligation to continue.
Some people notice changes after one or two treatments, while others may benefit from a longer treatment plan. For ongoing or more chronic concerns, a course of weekly acupuncture appointments may be recommended at the beginning, with sessions becoming less frequent as things improve.
Many clients also choose regular acupuncture treatments as part of their general wellbeing routine, either monthly or seasonally, to support balance, relaxation and long-term health.
Your treatment plan will always be discussed with you during your consultation, so that the approach is tailored to your individual needs.
