Frequently asked questions
-
People seek acupuncture for many different reasons, including support with stress, tension, sleep, pain, digestion, hormonal health, energy levels and general wellbeing.
At NK Acupuncture in Marylebone, treatments are tailored to the individual. Rather than focusing only on one symptom, classical acupuncture looks at the person as a whole, taking into account lifestyle, health history, emotional wellbeing and overall balance.
Nas may also use moxa, also known as moxibustion, where appropriate. Moxa is a dried therapeutic herb that is gently warmed and used near specific acupuncture points to support the treatment. It is often used alongside acupuncture as part of a traditional Chinese medicine approach.
Your first appointment includes a consultation, so Nas can understand your needs and discuss the most suitable treatment approach for you.

Acupuncture is generally not painful and many people find it to be a relaxing experience. If you have a specific condition you're looking to treat or any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.

The number of acupuncture sessions needed varies from person to person. It depends on your general health, the reason you are seeking treatment, how long the issue has been present, and how your body responds to acupuncture.
Some people notice changes after one or two treatments, while others may benefit from a longer treatment plan. For ongoing or more chronic concerns, a course of weekly acupuncture appointments may be recommended at the beginning, with sessions becoming less frequent as things improve.
Many clients also choose regular acupuncture treatments as part of their general wellbeing routine, either monthly or seasonally, to support balance, relaxation and long-term health.
Your treatment plan will always be discussed with you during your consultation, so that the approach is tailored to your individual needs.
